CRACK FILLING
Remember when your driveway was new with no cracks? On a freshly paved driveway, rain water simply runs off the smooth surface to nearby drains or grass, but older driveways with cracking are vulnerable to rain water penetrating through the cracks and weakening the sub base beneath. Any problems with the sub base below eventually leads to problems with the asphalt on top. When your asphalt begins to crack, Bergen County Sealcoating recommends filling those cracks to help extend the life of your driveway. Depending on the circumstances, we use two different products for crackfilling. For smaller cracks on a residential driveway we typically use a Trowel Grade Crackfiller that is fortified with mineral fillers and fibers that interlock when cured. For larger longitudinal cracks that demand a more durable product, we use a hot rubberized crack sealant. When properly melted and applied it forms a resilient crack sealant with superior lasting power!
ASPHALT REPAIR
For any dangerous potholes or deteriorated asphalt, Bergen County Sealcoating offers a professional solution. Our favorite product to repair minor potholes in a residential driveway is a revolutionary, eco-friendly product called AquaPhalt. For residential driveways, this cold asphalt product provides a strong, permanent repair for minor potholes and small areas of damaged asphalt. It is hands down, the best cold asphalt product on the market. For larger areas that require repair, Bergen County Sealcoating recommends using Hot Mix Asphalt. HMA is the asphalt used to pave roads and driveways. High traffic parking lots demand a material that will hold up to the constant vehicle traffic.
